IE8 Compatibility issue and JIRA 6.1: No grids are rendered in IE-8 after edit submit

Problem

This issue can happen when using IE8 with JIRA 6.1.


 Using IE8 and JIRA 6.1

  • go to view issue screen

  • start inline editing for any field of "Details" module 

  • When you submit the changes, the grid on the view screen will be gone.

Reason

This issue has been root caused and is related to JIRA 6.1 itself

Javascript tag in view template makes details-module to disappear after submitting inline-editing in IE8

Workaround

Refreshing the IE8 page will bring up the grid again.
