First steps with Table Grid in JIRA Datacenter/Server
1. Create project
Navigate to main taskbar, in Projects click Create project
In Create project, select one type of project
In this example, writer chose Kanban software development.
Click Select button
Type Name and Key of the software development. Click Submit button to save the project.
In this example, writer typed “Quick Start Guide” for Name and Key
2. Create new grid
User can create new grid in 2 different way
2.1 Add a Grid Custom Field
In your JIRA administration navigate to Issues

Select a Field Type as Grid

In this example, writer used “Quick Start Guide” for Name and Description
In Configure context, choose Select issue types, Choose context and Select projects. Click Create to save the configuration.

Click Update button to save the associate screen.

Configure the grid (Edit Grid Field)
Once you've created the grid field, you can proceed to the configuration under Custom Fields, select your grid field, click “Configure” to edit grid field.

In Grid Fields - Grid - Table Grid, user can select the grid and click the button to edit the gird
Fill the Name and Description.
In this example, writer used Quick Start Guide for Name and Description.
In Configuration, user click Add new column to create new columns or use the default columns.
Click Save to save the configuration.
Where you can add columns to your grid, specify grid general settings and connect external data sources to your grid.
Note!
If you want to have multiple contexts for one Grid Custom Field, configure every grid context separately.
You can do that under Custom Fields - Select your grid field - Configure -Select desired context - Edit Grid Field.
To find the list of grids navigate to Add-ons - Table Grid - Grids. You can also add, remove and edit the grid from here.

2.2 Create a Grid Field
Navigate to Jira Administration → Click Grid in Table Grid
Click Add Grid button co create new grid
Fill in information for Name and Description
In this example, writer used Quick Start Guide for both of it
Click Save to save the configuration
Click Screen in Issues
Search for your Screen then click Configure to add the grid in the selected screen.
In Configure Screen, search for the grid then click Add button to add the grid.
In this example, writer add Quick Start Guide grid in QSG: Kanban Default Issue Screen
3. View grid on issue view
In Projects, click View All Projects
Choose your project
In this example, writer choose Quick Start Guide project.
Click Create button to add new issue
In Create Issue, write Summary of the issue. Click Create to create new issue
In this example, write wrote Test for Summary
4. Add data to the grid
Once the columns are configured you can populate the grid with data.
By default, the text/string column values are aligned left and number/integer column values are aligned right.
Below you can see how the grid looks on the issue view.
