Grid with multiple contexts shows empty rows on Create Issue screen when adding rows

Grid with multiple contexts shows empty rows on Create Issue screen when adding rows

Problem

When a Table Grid Editor (TGE) custom field is configured with multiple contexts (each context having a different grid configuration), adding rows on the Create Issue screen does not work correctly for all contexts.

Symptoms

  • Only the grid using the last configured context works correctly on the Create Issue screen.

  • For other contexts, clicking Add Row adds an empty row - the entered data is not displayed in the grid.

Impact

This issue has limited impact on your workflow:

  • It only occurs on the Create Issue screen.

  • After clicking Create, the row data appears correctly on the created issue.

  • Users can continue editing the grid data normally after the issue has been created.

Affected versions: All versions of Table Grid Editor (Server / Data Center).

Important: Since Table Grid Editor is now in basic maintenance mode, this issue will not be fixed in future TGE releases.

Solution

Workaround (for TGE):

If you need multiple configuration contexts, the recommended workaround is to create separate custom fields - one for each configuration context - instead of using multiple contexts on a single field.

Recommended: Migrate to Table Grid Next Generation (TGNG)

Table Grid Next Generation fully supports multiple contexts and does not have this limitation. We strongly recommend migrating to TGNG for an improved experience and continued feature support.
